2. Hosting
This website is operated on a virtual private server (VPS). Each time the site is accessed, the server automatically stores connection data (IP address, date/time, requested URL, browser type) in server log files. This data is technically necessary and is automatically deleted after a maximum of 7 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technical provision of the service).
3. Game Data
During gameplay, temporary game rooms are created on the server. These contain only the player names chosen by the users (no registration, no email address required) and are automatically deleted when the game session ends. No personal data is stored permanently.
4. User Account (optional)
Users who create an account voluntarily store their email address and player name on our server. This data is used exclusively for authentication and highscore storage, is not shared with third parties, and can be deleted at any time upon request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
5. Cookies
This website does not use tracking cookies. The browser's local storage (localStorage) is used exclusively to save language preferences, game state, and authentication tokens. No data is transmitted to third parties.
6. Web Analytics (Umami)
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not transmit any data to third parties. Only anonymised usage statistics (page views, device type) are stored on our own server at stats.quartettos.com. Identification of individual persons is not possible. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
